EGYPT'S STORY...OUR STORY
The Great Dane in the No-Kill United logo was my dog, Egypt. Egypt was abused as a puppy. I don't know the details of this part of her life, but I was told it was pretty severe. After some time, Egypt was out of that situation and in a new home. In this new home she was finally able to know love, be cared for, and have an enjoyable life. But after many years in this home, Egypt's owner found herself in a new relationship...and their plans together didn't include Egypt. When I heard about her story, I just knew I had to open my home to Egypt so she could live out the rest of her life being loved and cared for instead of just being abandoned.
I only had Egypt for just under a year before she passed away, but in that time she touched the hearts of everyone around her. Ten years old when I met her, she was already a senior for her time. But she could keep up with the pups like she was only two years old.
While I was preparing for a diving trip, Egypt’s vet discovered a large mass on her spleen. Cancer. And the mass could rupture at any moment. With that unexpected discovery, suddenly we found ourselves with only hours left to say goodbye.
Through No-Kill United I keep her spirit alive.
